Terrible customer service.
I am an Australian citizen who went to an Australian website to book a holiday in Australia. And you chose to show me an ad for 25% off car rental that is only available to European citizens. Not only is that of no use to me it is rubbing my nose in the fact that other people are getting a discount that I'm not eligible for. That is terrible marketing and terrible customer service.

Novotel Wolverhampton - worst hotel exp
I stayed at the Novotel in Wolverhampton on Sunday the 17th of July 2022. It was certainly the worst experinece for me in the UK. I asked to checkin at 1pm when I made the reservation, but the staff was very unhelpful the way he said the room will not be available until 3pm when I arrived. I came back at 2:25pm and I was allocated room 202. When I got to the room, the Air conditioning was not working and the TV was not working. I went to the to the same guy at the reception to complain and he told me that there is no available room in the hotel with Air conditioning and that it is a management decision and then tried to give me a slip to call the management the following day. I was very adamant that I cannot sleep in a room without AC and that why was I allocated such a room in this weather of over 30 degrees centigrade when i came early and there were very few cars outside which suggested there must be other rooms. He insisted that he cannot do anything about it. I then said I would like to cancel my booking and go somewhere else. He said I should sit and he would cancel and get booking.com to refund me. Then after about two minutes he looks in my direction and said he will give one of the customers that has not arrived yet a call to see if thy are still coming and if not he would allocated me the room. He did not call anyone and after a minute, he then allocated me another room (133). I told him this is a very poor customer service and I do not know how he could have allocated me such a room in the first place. I will certainly never go to Novotel again. I have never used the hotel before and will not be using it again. Only stayed there because the function I attended was close to the hotel.
Good but beware of booking direct if you need to change dates.
Over the years I have used Accor hotels a lot, mainly for transit hotels. My experience of them has been good. They serve a purpose are clean well sited and they do it well. I have used pretty much all of the brands. I am a member of their Accor loyalty programme.
However it would seem under the current booking system even if you chose a rate which is cancellable, you are debited when you book. Last week I made two bookings at different hotels and got the dates wrong. To alter the dates the booking system makes you cancel and rebook. Ergo they take your money twice. In both cases I have had to chase the hotels for a credit for the incorrect booking. I suggest rather than use the Accor booking App you make your booking through someone like Booking.com who I find are easier to rearrange dates in these circumstances.

Bedbugs
We stayed at the Mercure Au Lac in Bordeaux for a night. We had reserved a family room for our children to have a nice double bed. When waking up my kids were covered in bites and their eyelids swollen - which is a common sign of bed bugs. This is the very last time we will stay at a mercure hotel.

No trust
I stayed at the novotel ipswich centre on the 8th July. I was very impressed with the communal areas and especially so the room for the price spacious and interior decor was very nice. Bathroom ceiling above the shower needed some attention but didn't impact our stay. Staff were friendly and breakfast was plentiful and varied options for all. That said I forgot my phone charger when packing which I left in the room. I tried contacting the hotel on the 9th which was date of departure when I realised but no answer left a message but no one responded. I emailed again no response I tried calling again on the 11th and the receptionist told me that they were having a meeting with housekeeping at 12 and someone would call me back. No one did so I called again and was told nothing had been found. Whilst I expect the housekeeping that enter rooms are honest and properly vetted I don't just expect that to be whilst I'm
staying I also expect it if I inadvertently leave something behind. This shouldn't be an opportunity for cleaner's to help themselves. Luckily it was only a charger but is easy done this will definitely make me think again when looking for hotel accommodation in the future very disappointing

Novotel cardiff Centre
I recently stayed at this hotel which is supposed to be a four stared hotel but in my opinion is no more than a two. The air conditioning didn't work and according to staff hasn't worked for over a year. The safe in the room didnt lock due to a low battery I did mention it but nothing was done during our stay. The fridge in the room lit up when the door was open but didn't chill anything. I would have been better off putting things in a sink full of cold water. The hotel was full of immigrants who had no control over their many children who were running around and riding bikes and scooters inside the hotel much to the annoyance of the staff. I asked where the immigrants were from and was told Russia though they were not supposed to mention that. The maintenance team were working on the fire alarm system which kept going off causing much panic among the immigrants who the staff were trying to calm down. On the alarm sounding the staff started to leave but the rest of us were left eating and drinking wondering what was going on. There was apparently supposed to be a sign telling people what was going on bus someone forgot to put it out. Food was fair to middling but the staff were very friendly and obliging. If you are really desperate book a room here otherwise go somewhere else.

Mercure Chartres Centre Cathédral - Personal Injury
Mercure Chartres Centre Cathédrale Hotel
Overnight Stay 6th-7th June 2022
Cut head sustained when trying to use a dysfunctional shower. Before showering I had to dislodge the handset from between the vertical slider pole and the tiled wall only to find that the slider spring clip was broken and shower head couldn't be fixed in any stable position and in the process of trying it caused water spillage onto floor and consequent fall. No rubber anti slip mat provided. Helpful receptionist on desk but there didn't appear to be any set protocols for such accidents and when first aid kit finally appeared it was grossly inadequate. No medical assistance available not even first aid. Although reception checked on me by phoning my room an hour later, no follow up in the morning when I checked out. I suspect the faulty shower handset has still not been reported or repaired, I have photographic record. No formal apology from the hotel and no facility on the All Accor website for complaints nor any means of contacting customer services. Interesting that when I stayed at the asme hotel a few weeks earlier travelling south I very quickly received a customer services request for feedback on my stay. No such request for feedback was sent to me after return stay following the accident? Mercure Chartres Centre you need to sharpen up your act and review your Health & Safety procedures as well as maintenance standards. All Accor Hotels you need to present a much more customer friendly interface for feedback, or can't you cope with complaints? You may be relieved to know that the NHS Newark Hospital gave me a clean bill of health when I checked in at A&E on 8th June, feel free to check! ANDREW WIMBLE

I just stayed at the ibis styles in manchester. The one with the big chair in reception and umbrellas. What a nice hotel. Such a pleasant stay. Nice ambiance, nice design. I had a scottish beef burger at the restaurant downstairs. I grew up having some of the best steak in zimbabwe and south africa. And in australia. The beef burger at ibis is in the top ten ive had in the world. Awesome. If im back in manchester, 100% im coming back. A great place. The staff were very nice too. Regards jonathan lever

Intimidating staff conduct in Novotel Katowice Centrum. Distressing experience.
It took me 40 min to check in although it was me and two young guys at the reception. One was training the other, I was given instructions mainly on what I can't do, I had to pay in full at check-in, however, forgot to inform me I have to store my card so the restaurant bill is added to the room's tab, and payable upon checking-out. Overall, at the general desk, male staff acted as an informal, sloppy hall of residence owners. Spa, the swimming pool was small yet deep and nice, the sauna didn't work, the staff present there was overly apologetic, which makes customers like myself frankly hollering inside. Just do your job, and repeating 'sorry' does more harm than good.
In the restaurant, the coffee was terrible, female restaurant staff didn't know what kind of coffee they had, arabica, robusta, where does it come from? I can say they are still using machines that depend on hard-to-recycle pods, which are terrible for the environment. The same staff didn't know what kind of Merlot wine they had, effectively discouraging me to dine there. When I got back to the room, I called the restaurant and desk several times to say I left and will pay at the check out (for the coffee and wine). After several trials the desk answered, and then the restaurant female called after another hour, just when I was about to go to bed, patronising me and sending a guy to my room to make me pay. It was intimidating, wrong and not customer friendly amicable approach.
The room was small, holes in the curtain, bed mattrace rather needs an upgrade.
I could live with holes in the curtain, desk staff learning the ropes or not working sauna, although every hotel should inform you about that beforehand, the restaurant lady's strong-arming attitude changed my experience into something really bad. To be fair, there were nice people too, including a female receptionist at my check out, however it does not change my conclusion to never again be even near the Novotel hotel.

Novotel Birmingham Airport
I stayed at Novotel Birmingham airport
And the staff are not that friendly unless you paying money out they don’t talk to guest much or even say hi as they pass by when I got to the hotel they said I can’t check in till 3pm and that I had booked a day use room instead of a full night room and they told me in front of my mate that it will cost me £213 to stay the night and I agreed to pay for that sum until I went to check in at 3pm where I was told it had gone up to £219 meaning a £6 increase when I got to the room I had inspected the room and it had hairs down by the bath and a bed as though someone had already slept in it marks on the cabinets hole in the bathroom ceiling hole in the carpet I am appalled of the price and the state of the room I would not book here again and I have raised a complaint with head office and I hope they will get back to me in a week like they said they would but the overall service is not great and prices are too expensive for what you get they also tried to accuse me of using someone else’s credit card but when I showed them proof of id to show them it was my card they continued to process my booking no apology what so ever the hotel made me feel like a criminal in front of my friend the hotel refused to refund my money for the bad service that I received but offered me a free upgrade and a meal for two this offer is pointless as after being treated badly the first time why would I stay there again to go through the same issue the only thing I will accept from this hotel is a 50% refund which is around £109.00 which I think is reasonable as I am still paying the other £109.00 for the room I just don’t see why I should pay full price for half the service received so i think refund of half the price will be sufficient in the circumstances
